Seasons Greetings To Our Bottoms Up Community!
We hope this finds you and your families doing well! We are wrapping up this year's Thanksgiving Day 5K Turkey Trot and it's been another exciting event! Thanksgiving is such a great time to reflect and we've been doing a lot of that this year! Our team was discussing our different family traditions. We all have our unique customs or beliefs that are passed down through the generations or that are done time after time or year after year. An example of a tradition might be eating turkey on Thanksgiving or perhaps running a Thanksgiving Day Turkey Trot (we hope)!
“Traditions, for many of us, are especially present during the holiday season,” stated Dawn Zavalishin, Executive Director for Bottoms Up. “We have several families who come back year after year to race together, take pictures, sip hot chocolate, and enjoy the festivities. It really jump starts the season!”
This year, many of you shared your personal stories with us once again - whether just running the race for fun with your family, completing an official race for the first time, running with a grandparent, or just challenging yourself! We applaud your accomplishments and we are thankful, grateful and blessed you chose Bottoms Up as your Thanksgiving Day tradition in 2020! Its certainly been an interesting year filled with a rollercoaster of emotions!
We are proud to announce that we raised over $1,000 with only 29 participants for Connecticut Children's - Center for Pediatric IBD and we aren't done yet! We've decided to extend our support for the entire month of December. Why? It's the right thing to do for the patients and families we support!
December 1st - December 7th is Crohn's and Colitis Awareness Week! Please visit our Events page and learn more about this exciting week and how you may support Connecticut Children's!
Prizes were awarded to the following participants. Congratulations to all our winners and finishers!
